As the Senior Project Manager, Career Transition for our Edmonton office, Sonja is responsible for the coordination and management of major downsizing projects. In addition to her duties as a career consultant, she builds and leads project teams to oversee and deliver our career transition services.
Sonja’s professional background is in human resources/program management, with extensive experience in recruitment and selection, competency-based training, organizational development, and career and employment counseling. She has also been involved in adult education, including needs assessment, development and delivery of programs and workshops, curriculum and training material.
Prior to joining Toombs, Sonja worked for private organizations and government departments. As a career consultant for an international non-profit organization, she designed and delivered workshops on personal development, job search techniques, job maintenance, professional development and workplace transition issues. She also performed crisis intervention as well as mediating problems between employers and employees.
Sonja has a BA in Business Administration with a major in Human Resource Management. She has also trained in career assessment programs including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.
